A late Victorian knee-hole desk with an olive green leather top, gilt tooled around the border and laid in three panels. Nine drawers in all - one long drawer over the knee hole, one above each pedestal and a bank of three either side - with turned wooden knobs and brass escutcheons, standing on a stepped plinth base. 125 cms wide by 75 cms deep and 75 cms high, a proper working size for a study rather than a hall table with ambitions.
